As a beach town Santa Barbara offers a wide variety of activities in the water and on the beach. If relaxing is what the doctor ordered, post up with a book at the many beaches that stretch along the coastline such as Butterfly or Hendry’s. Anyone looking to get out on the sea can rent kayaks or small sail boats in the harbor, and East Beach is a popular destination for beach volleyball players.

The beach isn’t all that Santa Barbara has to offer. The hills that hug the picturesque coast line are a hikers paradise. Ranging in difficulty there are trails for hikers of any level. Water falls, creeks, or amazing 360 degree views can be found at many of the trails on the front country.

- The Santa Barbara Mission-One of the 21 California missions can be found in Santa Barbara, although the original structure was damaged in the 1812 and the 1925 earthquakes, the structure has been re-built, and much of the outside remains unchanged.
- State Street- The main street that runs through the center of town is lined with shops, restaurants, and bars.
- Arlington Theater- is the largest movie theater and performing arts center in Santa Barbara. It is home to the International Santa Barbara Film Festival.
- The Santa Barbara Court House- one of the most visited spot in Santa Barbara is the court house. Popular for its Spanish architecture.
