Empire State Building

There is so much to see and explore in Big Apple that even the most seasoned travelers, when they are on their nth tour of the city get confused when asked the top 5 things to here. The city, one of the most populous and also the largest mega cities in US is a tourist’s delight when it comes to attractions (though the same cannot be said about the expenses one has top bear). The city is known for its Statue of Liberty and the Stock Exchange apart from dozens of other sites. It is better to stick to places of your interest rather than visit generalized attractions. Here is my take on top attractions in the city that never sleeps.

Before I mention the top 5 things to do in NY, let me put things is perspective by saying that renting holiday apartments in New York is a far better option than staying in expensive hotels. These are homes specifically built by people to rent them to tourists to make a regular income. These are just like Brussels apartment and Barcelona apartments that prove economical and make one feel like a New Yorker for a few days.

Rockefeller Center

Built by Rockefeller Jr., this is a complex that looks like a city within the city of NY. It is a place having shops, offices and entertainment points and one of its kind in US. Declared as a National Landmark, Rockefeller Centre took 9 years and more than 70000 workers to get completed. The complex has number of public places with artwork from renowned artists of the world. There is a visitor’s guide in the GE building should you be more interest in getting details of these artworks. Do not miss on the huge Christmas tree which is a star attraction.

Empire Estate Building

It was the tallest building in the world when it came into existence in 1930. This is a magical building having 102 floors that goes up nearly half a mile in the sky. It looms over Manhattan like a custodian of tall buildings. There are observation decks on 86th and 102nd floors where you can reach after buying tickets. The view one gets of the city of NY is just majestic, to say the least. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/new-york-city/sights/tower/empire-state-building.

Central Park

If you are a nature lover, do not miss out on a chance to walk in this mesmerizing park. With facilities like a zoo, theater, food, entertainment and recreation, the tour makes for a memorable day in this lush green park of gigantic proportions.

NY Yankees

Coming to NY and not watching NY Yankees practice in their stadium would be an injustice to this great baseball team that plays in the major American league.
