About Me
My name is Somapala, and I am a Retired Principal. I love living in Deiyandara because it's located far away from big cities with less traffic. I love the atmosphere of the city and the people. People maybe a little pushy until you get to know them, then they are more/less
You have to go to
Waterfall in town where to get to feel the mist of the water falling down and refresh you on a hot summer day.
Here's one fun activity you can do
Go to a temple on a full moon " Poya day" to admire the smell of the incense and the light of the oil lamps.
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
Hike up the hill through the tea plantations and admire the hilly and cool side of the city.
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
Mulatiyana junction bus stand restaurant where locals get to taste the local spicy food.
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Visit the famous waterfall.
2. dive in the river for a swim.
3. hike up the hills through tea plantations.
4. take a tuc tuc through the town and see beauty of the forests and the tea plantations.
5. go to a local restaurant to eat and chat with locals.
My extra insider tip for you is
Month of may and june are very hot and mosquitoes are abundant, please make sure to bring some bug sprays to avoid the bites.
