You have to go to
Go to the city center and enjoy the atmosphere.
Here's one fun activity you can do
You must go to Las Tascas (pubs, bar, disco) - they're around the university area. You'll find every kind of music, nice people and have fun for sure. Just ask someone on the street if you need directions, and the people will help you - we love tourists!
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
El Santuario de la Fuensanta is a church on a mountain and offers fabulous panoramic views of Murcia - a great place to photograph the city. You'll need a car (10 minutes away) or take a bus. Another place is the beach and see the Mar Menor - amazing!
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
Mesón Los Zagales for typical Murcian food. I also recommend going to La Plaza de las Flores for tapas.
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
You must visit the old center of the city:
1. el Ayuntamiento (town hall)
2. la Catedral,
3. la Calle Trapería with El Real Casino
4. la Plaza de Santo Domingo
5. el Paseo de Alfonso X el Sabio
6. The Teatro Romea
7. You can visit the commercial area on the Gran Via.
My extra insider tip for you is
Rent a car and visit the region, beaches, la Huerta and mountains. It's also great to visit Murcia for many of our typical festivities, such as Holy Week (Semana Santa) and the following week with Las Fiestas de Primavera (El Bando de la Huerta is very famous and also the "Burial of the Sardine). We have also the September Fair and Murcia Three Cultures Festival and the SOS Festival in May - welcome to Murcia!
