About Me
My name is Sherry, and I am a chemist. I love living in Olympia, Washington because it has a vibrant downtown, full of young people, eateries, live theater, a boardwalk, farmer's market, fountains and art. We also have a fair amount of beautiful parks.
You have to go to
Downtown Oympia
Here's one fun activity you can do
Spend some time at the Farmer's Market
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
San Francisco Bakery. It's a neighborhood bakery far from the beaten track, with outdoor seating and it's ull of locals.
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
Hearthfire. It's built on stilts over the water and has enormous windows. You'll be comfortable there in casual to super dressy clothes. The deck seating is amazing in the summer, and the happy hour is lovely.
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Start with breakfast at Rockfish.
2. Spend some time walking around downtown and checking out the shops, including Captain Little Toy Store.
3. Head to Boston Harbor and rent a kayak for the afternoon or walk in Priest Point Park.
4. Drink the water from Artesian Well on 5th.
5. End the day at Traditions for a light dinner and some live music, or go to Jake's for hot dogs and some dancing.
My extra insider tip for you is
Woodard Bay has 1,000 maternal bats under the bridge. If you stay there till dark, all the bats swoop out and around you as they head downtown to eat insects at Capitol Lake - an amazing experience.
