You have to go to
The 18th-century Fortress whispers a lot of interesting stories. The surrounding areas of the city also give insight into recent history of the end of the former Yugoslavia.
Here's one fun activity you can do
Pannonian Challenge is a unique social event with live music and modern sport, such as bmx, inline skating, skateboarding (http://2015.pannonian.hr/en/)
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
Urban: The Fortress and it's surroundings, such as the parks and the Drava River. Because of rich history and natural beauties. Neighbouring: the best and the first rewarded organic farm Orlov put since it offers all what makes this area valuable to see: “real life” experience, people who gave up everything to make their dream come true, living 100% in harmony with nature, hand made thatched roof house, hand made furniture.. rustic food, peace and quiet... http://www.eko-gospodarstvo.com/OrlovPut/en/
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
Fresh water fish on forked branches cooked on an open fire outside,
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
The local people are the best thing to meet here, succeeding from a failing, post-communist economy to create new, well-developed businesses: the ”little people" who succeeded, surviving the civil war and coming out of it as better people and have made this town a better place.

Project: Reviving the old craft, co-financed by the EU: replica of the water mill on the Drava River (as it used to be when the current was used for making flour for locals).. craftsman who built the mill lives next to it..
My extra insider tip for you is
The area isn't glamorous like the coastal areas of Croatia, but rather here is where you hear and see the story of a real life, survival during the war, dealing with land mines and unemployment and coming out of it as better human beings who move on with smiles on their faces and try to make this town a better place.
