About Me
My name is Kim, and I am a lawyer. I love living in Salem, Oregon because it's the center of all the government activity. Also, it's a good mix of small-city living with a rural feel just outside of it. The river runs right through the middle and there's plenty more/less

You have to go to
The state hospital is located here, where "One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest" was filmed. Otherwise, the state capital building is really beautiful on the inside and has lots iconic Oregon details.
Here's one fun activity you can do
Visiting Silver Falls State Park is a must, with beautiful scenery and several waterfalls within a small area.
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
Downtown. Walk along the streets, and you'll pass over the tunnels built in the 1800s, and Brown's Town. where locals hang out chatting with anyone who comes by to have a beer.
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
Word of Mouth is one of the best restaurants in town (but limited hours).
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Go to Word of Mouth for breakfast
2. Spend the day exploring Silver Falls.
3. Then, come back for a beer at Salem Ale Works, 4. Finally, head downtown for dinner and maybe catch some music at the Gov Cup.
My extra insider tip for you is
It's a very green city, and we're spoiled for choice with so many hiking trails.
