About Me
My name is Kelsey, and I am a foods service manager extrodinaire. I love living in Thunder Bay, ON because of its low population density and the magnificent people who create this; the beautiful and ever changing Lake Superior; the fresh air and the endless adventures, both outdoors and culturally, more/less
You have to go to
The waterfront/marina, especially when there is a festival happening! From Festival of India, Bluesfest or Family Day's Winter Fun!
Here's one fun activity you can do
Only one?! Well, my favourite is the Ultimate Frisbee league I'm a part of :)
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
I love going hiking at Silver Falls, following the trail up along the Kaministiqua River towards Dog Lake. Then to arrive at the falls is always amazing.
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
I always love going to the Sovereign Room, aka The Sov - good beers, fairly vegetarian-friendly (not for vegans), great atmosphere and cool people.
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Wake up for sunrise at Hillcrest Park and see the sun come up over the Sleeping Giant.
2. Walk down Red River Road and grab a book from the Waverly Library. Take it to St. Paul's Roastry and order an almond latte (the best in the whole world, no joke). Then, peruse through New Day Records' sweet selection (attached to the coffee shop).
3.Pick up s fat bike from Petrie's Cycle and Sports, and head to the reserve (gas up when you're there). and enjoy a beautiful bike down along Squaw Bay. Take a jump in the lake if you're brave!
4. Swing by Chippewa Park for a sweet view of the Giant as you're leaving, and then head to Kabob Village for some delicious lentil soup.
5. Get inspired by the colours of wool at Threads N'Time and pick up supplies for your next knitting project.
6. Grab a local growler of beer from Sleeping Giant Brewery to enjoy in the evening.
7. Spend the late afternoon relaxing and detoxing in a private sauna at Kangas - or go swimming at the Volunteer Pool and enjoy their communal sauna. 8. Then, look on TB Shows to see where your favourite kind of live music is playing - Apollo, Foundry, Crocks, Black Pirates Pub or Def Sup!

Then head back to your welcoming couchsurfing host for sweet dreams :)
My extra insider tip for you is
Thunder Bay is very special for it's community projects; so come and volunteer at an awesome place like the RFDA, Roots to Harvest, Def Sup, community gardens etc...
