About Me
My name is Tobias, and I am a student. I love living in Skien because it's small enough so that you don't feel anonymous, but it's big enough to always meet new people if you want to.
You have to go to
Brekkeparken is above Skien. Bring a picnic basket in the summer and enjoy the park!
Here's one fun activity you can do
If you arrive in summer, you can travel up the famous Telemark canals by boat. The trip will take you deep into Telemark; it's Norway at its most beautiful.
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
Lundetangen is a local pub--you'll always find people here. If you're traveling alone, it's always easy to begin a conversation here. I will even bring a book here, to enjoy some time away from my apartment and a cold beer (which I have helped brew in my microbrewery!)
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
I would recommend letting me cook for you, but if you want to go out for food, the best restaurants in Skien are as following: -Jacob & Gabriel, great food but pricey. -Strøm Mat & Bar, they're great at using local products but somewhat pricey. -La Bodega, Spanish tapas. -New Agra, Indian cuisine.
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Enjoy a picnic in Brekkeparken.
2. Catch a concert, play or other event in Ibsenhuset, Ibsen Theatre or another cultural facility.
3. Eat at Jacob&Gabriels, if you have the budget.
4. Visit Skien Church.
5. Enjoy a beer at The Blind Dog or Lundetangen.
My extra insider tip for you is
Nima runs "Gentlemans Corner" and provides affordable and high-quality, traditional wet shaves and other barber services.
