About Me
My name is Olya Bakulina, and I am a digital strategist. I love living in Saratov because it perfectly reflects the Russian soul of a provincial old-fashioned town.

You have to go to
The Volga River and the old bridge, which was the biggest in Europe at the time it was built in 1965.
Here's one fun activity you can do
Go ice tubing down the hill in winter. Oh, so much fun!
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
My favorite place is the top of the hill near the city, where you can just sit and enjoy the view (it's equally beautiful by day and at night). You can come here with friends on your bicycles and have a picnic, or come with your husband to watch the sunrise -- it's a very romantic place.
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
For real Russian food you should definitely go to the locals places, because you'll have a chance to try something that no restaurant can serve: borcsh, pelmeni, vareniki and other strange dishes.
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Walk around the center and along the embankment of The Volga River in the morning.
2. Then have a meal in one of the small cozy cafés on Kirova Prospect.
3. It'll be great to go to the ethnic village to look at the typical houses of some nations that live in our area.
4. Go to the hill to enjoy the beautiful view of the city.
5. For dinner it's definitely great to go to some locals restaurants, because it's usually where the party starts. You may try some Russian food and afterwards play some games.

My extra insider tip for you is
P.S. never use buses 6 & 11 - they're so slow! ;)
