About Me
My name is Gina, and I am a businesswoman and the owner of the Blue Table restaurant. I love living in Los Angeles, California because I love the diversity! Los Angeles is such huge city, you could be at the beach in the morning, hiking in a canyon in the more/less
You have to go to
Griffith Park Observatory, this historic building built in 1935 boasts some of the best views of Los Angeles – views of downtown, Hollywood, West Los Angeles, and even the ocean on a clear day.
Here's one fun activity you can do
Go to Venice Beach--it's one-stop fun for everyone, with boutique shopping, great restaurants, swim in the ocean, rent a bicycle, and you can even join in a drum circle.
Don't forget to check out one of my favorite places
Echo Park / Silverlake area! There is always something to do in LA in this neighborhood walking down the street of Sunset you can stumble across underground art shows, live music, and bizarre book readings Get in line with the young folks wearing cutting edge fashion and Mexican families to grab a taco from a truck at 1:00 am – this sums up this location.
Enjoy a meal at my favorite restaurant
In and Out Burger! Originally opened in LA in 1948, take a fresh made double cheeseburger on the road for more sightseeing!
Here's a doable bucket list for you to do in one day
1. Downtown LA – Easy to grab the metro in this fast pace city, grab a taco at Grand Central Market, dim sum in China town, check out the flower district, garment district, or even the jewelry district.
2. Hollywood – Walk among the stars in this TV/Film pioneer town.
3. Los Angeles County Museum – Check out some amazing art installations and the natural La brea Tar Pits.
4. Topanga Canyon! Get out of the city a bit and check out this beautiful canyon, go thrift shopping and eat some raw vegan food with the guitar playing hippies.
5. Go to the beach! From San Pedro to Malibu, you have to soak up some LA sun and see an amazing sunset.
My extra insider tip for you is
-You MUST rent a car, LA is a huge city and is easy to navigate if you don’t get stuck in traffic -When in town, check out online sites like Off Beat LA or LA Weekly for local music and art events -Rent a house instead of a hotel room if you are going to be in Los Angeles for a week or more, it allows you to truly soak in the Angelino lifestyle.
