The world is a book and its every page needs to be explored. To make the best of my life, I travel and this time my destination was San Francisco. It is a beautiful city and has a bucket list of surprises for its guests, lovers and explorers. The adoring beauty of the city makes you fall in love with it all over again. The city is a perfect choice for nature, art and culture lovers. It never disappoints any of its travelers and welcomes them with its cool weather and warm beauty.
Alcatraz Island
Saying no to all the tour conveyances, I decided to go on foot and enjoy the history and beauty of this historical landmark. During this crazy tour, my water bottle and camera were my only partners. Although there are many people taking the walking tours in the jail, it becomes really tiring during the day, as it’s hot and you aren’t allowed to carry any food with you. The jail is packed to make you feel better with its audio tour of the cellhouse. The audio clips of the prisoners were no less thrilling.
As dusk fell, I headed to Twin Peaks, and that was the best sunset I have ever seen in my life. The beauty and the silent sea wiped all my tiredness away and filled me with joy and hope.
Muir Woods Are Waiting
I took a long drive to the other side of the bridge where the Muir Woods were waiting for me. The soaring, inspiring and giant redwoods are the tallest trees in the world, and the area is home to various species of flora and fauna. On this excursion, my camera was my only companion, as every scene on the journey is worth capturing and makes my memory book much more special and unforgettable. After taking a long walk through the woods, I made Muir Beach my next destination and enjoyed the food with my favorite wine. The next stop was a small town in the heart of California named Sausalito—a perfect place to buy souvenirs. Moreover, the town has some beautiful art galleries, which offer a unique collection of art, paintings, architecture and pottery. Adding to this, there are some very good restaurants serving different cuisine with reasonable prices.
Time for Shopping
I don’t go shopping often, but San Francisco convinced me to buy beautiful things and add them to my bag. Union Square, where the city’s best hotels are concentrated, is the place to start a well-planned and organized tour, as most of them set off from this location only. In addition, the neighborhood has beautiful art galleries and is a shopping hub. I did lots and lots of shopping and bought gifts for my dear and near ones.
Food, Food and Food
The city has some of the best eateries, street food hubs and unique cuisine—a complete delight for the taste buds. I am a foodie and love to try different flavors and dishes. During my whole vacation, I had a new destination for lunch and dinner every day. Chinatown serves the best Chinese in the city; North Beach is a center of many restaurants and cafés and a perfect place to enjoy coffee. The Mission District serves some of the best Mexican dishes in the whole of the United States and is worth trying.
Walking through the Streets
Walking and getting lost in the mesmerizing beauty of San Francisco is a beautiful experience in itself. I took a long walk along the historical streets, talked to the locals and clicked pictures. Locals are the best guides and will take you to some infamous but amazing city attractions. I made my way to the historical library and museums. During my journey, I enjoyed the city’s traditional food. Walking and talking is always a good idea when it comes to enjoying the city in my own way. It gives me some extra time and space to stay away from the daily hustle and bustle of life. It’s good therapy to relax the mind and helps you to burn some calories. It was like a dream come true when I took a long walk across the most photographed bridge in the world: the “Golden Gate Bridge” at night. The night sky and the lights all over the city make it prettier and more attractive. The beauty of the bridge was enough to blow my mind away.
My Roller Coaster Ride
One of the most famous attractions of the city is the “cable cars”. When I prepared my list of the things to be done in San Francisco, the cable cars were at the top of my list. It was no less than a roller coaster ride and added thrill to my journey. The twists and turns make the ride exciting. I was well aware of the routes and chose the one starting from Union Square to Fisherman’s Wharf, as it gave me a perspective of the city and covered the steep hills to make my ride memorable.
Exploring The City
I took a San Francisco road trip to make the best of the city. My day started from Union Square to Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach, Twin peaks, and the Golden Gate Bridge, pretty much covering every famous spot. Since the city has so many spectacular sights to see, it becomes very important to choose the right mode of transporation wisely, in order to make the most of your journey.
Sightseeing Is Always a Good Idea
In order to enjoy the city without wasting and missing any time and spot respectively, sightseeing was my first and last option. San Francisco comes with many other choices—explore them. It’s a good idea to select a tour that matches your budget, as they all cover the attractive destinations and give you a great overview so that you don’t miss out on anything.
Adding More Adventure And Thrill to the Vacation
If you’re fond of cycling, be sure to add the fun of a bike tour to your holiday. There are many places which rent out bikes, making the journey full of adventure. Feel the wind in your hair while exploring the streets of San Francisco and enjoy its alluring scenery.
Nightlife Rocks
The city is a complete package in itself and has some of the best clubs in its heart to cheer its lovers. Dance, eat and have the best flavored wine to make your vacation all the more memorable and indelible—just like I did.
San Francisco is a great place to visit. The hills are not fun to climb but it was great walking in those and when you get tired you can simply hop onto a cable car. Biking was fun along the golden gate bridge and we had so much fun. Sitting and eating chocolate at giradelli sq is always fun.
We had a great time in San Fran and loved the fisherman’s wharf. The hilly roads are great for a nice workout and taking a boat ride on the bag gives you a great views of the San Fran skyline. Great post and enjoyed reading it.
This brings back happy memories of our trip! Love San Francisco!
