Part of the Senchal Wildlife sanctuary, the Senchal Lake is a picturesque water body located about 10 kilometers south of Darjeeling. It is located on the top of a hill, which also has one of the highest golf courses in the world. Beautiful and enchanting, this lake is a popular picnic spot.
Ghoom or Ghum Monastery is situated in Ghum, located a few kilometers away from Darjeeling. Based on Tibetan Buddhism, the monastery is the largest of the monasteries in the region.

The capital of Sikkim is connected to Darjeeling and Siliguri by a metallic highway, a road that can weather all climates. A highly popular tourist spot, Gangtok is known for its Buddhist pilgrimages, year-round mild climate, eco tourism, verdant landscape and Himalayan views, especially of the Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain peak in the world.
A glacial lake in Sikkim, the Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake is surrounded by snow clad mountains and is a heavenly sight.
