A small island in Spain and part of the Balearic Islands, full of activities to fill out your entire trip, Majorca is the mix between rich culture and new modern culture. Many tourists from all over the world come to this island for various different reasons, young or old it really has anything to satisfy any tourist looking for all different types of holiday.

Sightseeing

Vallmossa

Throughout Majorca there are plenty of things to see and do to keep yourself busy throughout your entire trip. Arguably one of the prettiest towns in Majorca is Valldemossa, situated in the hills of the Tramuntana range, about 17km from Palma. It’s quiet and peaceful, surrounded by forests, narrow streets lined with green plants, it is a truly beautiful town to come and visit. The main reason everyone visits this town is its famous 13^th century monastery that was homed by monks in the 14^th century and the famous composer Chopin. Now used a museum for people to come and learn more about the history and culture of this truly beautiful city.

When in Palma have a look at the Palma aquarium, it houses 55 different tanks holding 5 million litres of water, with over 8,000 different sea life of around 700 different species. Not only can you watch these majestic creatures swim around, if you have diving experience you can join the sharks and swim around with them and truly get to grips with the sharks. Children over 8 can also enjoy swimming with the Rays, and can enjoy a sleepover in front of the big blue tank holding the aquariums 8 sharks.

Beaches

Everyone’s favourite part of the trip to any sunny destination, but there is something truly unique about Majorca, it has over 200 beaches! A large majority of these beaches are wonderful sandy beaches with turquoise coloured warm water, also out of the 200 beaches 43 of these have been awarded the blue flag status sue to the high quality of the beaches.

Alcudia Beach

Without a doubt the most popular beach among tourists that visit Majorca, it’s the perfect beach for families because of its safe shallow waters to leave your kids to splash around and play. Don’t worry about finding a space to lie your towel down or lay on one of the many sun loungers, there is over 3.4km of beach to choose from.

Known to be a lot quieter than the neighbouring beach Alcudia, but stretches across a staggering 6km, the beautiful white sanded beach has facilities such as life guards, disabled access, toilets and showers. Along the beach front is many restaurants, bars and cafes to accommodate hungry visitors after a day of splashing around and having fun with the many water sports spotted along the beach.

Nightlife

The main place for nightlife on this island is Magaluf, famous for hen/stag dos, single, couples who are looking for a long week of partying. The notorious Punta Balena strip is home to many bars and clubs that house cheap drinks, and famous DJ’s. Many DJ’s have played at the resort such as David Guetta, Tiesto, Basshunter and many more. There is no wonder why so many Brits come to Magaluf for a party weekend or week.

From historical and cultural towns to lively strips of nightclubs, the island really has everything to offer tourist who come on holidays to Majorca. So why not explore this fabulous island and visit everything it has to offer.
