With so many Europe cruises and tourist destination options to choose from, it can be hard to pick. With Celebrity Cruises, you’re sure to have an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience. Hop aboard the Celebrity Equinox this summer for a 12-night cruise to Italy and the Greek Isles. Picturesque beaches, crystal clear waters and white shutter homes make for an unforgettable journey.
Celebrity Equinox won “Best Food & Dining” by readers of Condé Nast Traveler and ranks fourth in “Top 20 Large Cruise Ships,” according to Condé Nast Traveler for its excellent service, amazing excursions and fun onboard activities.
Barcelona
You and your family will need to fly to Barcelona, Spain, to begin your adventure. The cruise departs on June 10, and your first two days are spent at sea. While traveling to your first destination take in all the ship has to offer. Soak up the sun on the manicured lawn deck. Pamper yourself with a spa day filled with massages, manicures and pedicures. Enjoy the award-winning cuisine each restaurant has to offer.
Rome
Your first destination is the beautiful city of Rome, Italy. Rome is a Mecca of culture and home to the infamous Colosseum and Sistine Chapel. If you want to experience culinary tastes, entertainment and sightseeing, book the Imperial Rome excursion. In 10 hours you will learn Imperial Rome’s fascinating history and take in the sights of the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and St. Peter’s Basilica. Prices start at $198.
Once you’ve seen all Rome has to offer, a full day will be spent in Naples, wine country. Located on the southern coast of Italy, Naples has spectacular views, breathtaking scenery and is home to one of the greatest food inventions to date: pizza.
Greece and Turkey
After another day at sea, you arrive in the Greek island of Santorini, a classic Greek seascape. Whitewashed houses with sea-blue roofs line the hillside. The oceans are luxurious and the island is a treasure trove for archeology buffs with sites that include tombs that date back to the 9th century. Day seven is spent in Kusadasi, Turkey, another archeologist’s dream. Kusadasi is filled with wonderfully historic sites, including the Temple of Hadrian, the Great Theater and the Temple of Artemis, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. If the kids will be burnt out on the historic sights, the Aquapark excursion is a must. This waterpark is filled with fun, excitement and dozens of slides. Prices start at $54 per adult and $42 per child. For an additional fee you can swim with the dolphins or snorkel in the coral reef.
After a few more days in Greece, you make your way back to Spain, making a stop in the art town of Valletta, Malta.
Prices for the 12-night cruise start at $1,549. Plan now to ensure your family this historic and serene European vacation! Have you taken a European cruise? We’d love to hear about it!
