Isle of Palms is truly a beach paradise, with one of South Carolina’s top beaches stretching all across the southeastern shore. Offering beautiful weather year round, panoramic views of the ocean from nearly the entire isle, and plenty of sunny days throughout the year, Isle of Palms makes for the perfect beach vacation. Fortunately for travelers, all this beachfront real estate gives rise to some truly delectable restaurants where you can enjoy the cool ocean breeze, and watch the tide comes in. So, sit back, dig your feet into the sand, and enjoy these restaurants that are just perfect for the beach bum in all of us!
The Windjammer
No Isle of Palms trip is complete without a trip to its iconic pub, the Windjammer. Billed as Charleston’s premier beach club, The Windjammer is always rocking with daily events and nightly shows, all jam packed with a crowd fresh off the beach, which is just steps away. Enjoy beach volleyball out back—with a beautiful ocean view—before sitting down to enjoy a delicious bar-fare menu highlighted by succulent Alaskan Snow Crab Legs and, of course, wings, burgers, and more fried cheese than you’ll know what to deal with. Though the menu is standard bar fare, you’ll find all of the food well prepared and flavorful, and a view that’s out of this world.
Morgan Creek Grill
If you’re not a fan of the party atmosphere, the laid-back Morgan Creek Grill may be more your speed. Though not on the beach side of the isle, the restaurant still offers waterfront views on the Northern side of the island, where you can watch the ferry tote vacationers to Dewees Island. A perfect spot to catch a sunset, Morgan Creek Grill also provides a subdued atmosphere with delectable eats.
Be sure to order the impeccable lobster roll, with large chunks of succulent, fresh lobster, it’s one of the best you’ll find this side of Cape Cod. Or, if you’re in the mood for something a bit lighter, you simply can’t go wrong with the simple yet flavorful grilled salmon. At the end of the day, however, the shrimp and grits is the top crowd-pleaser here, and for good reason! With large shrimp—well seasoned and cooked to perfection—laid atop country grits with tasso gravy, this dish is truly unforgettable and worth the lack of true beachfront views.
Coda Del Pesce
Finally, if you’re looking for a date-night spot where you can snuggle up with your significant other and watch the tide come in, Coda Del Pesce is the place for you. The priciest spot on our list, Coda Del Pesce offers a fresh take on Italian-influenced seafood. From the simply divine Ricotta Gnocchi— served with homemade Italian duck sausage—to the perfectly prepared grouper (both flaky and immensely flavorful), the menu at Coda Del Pesce is jam packed with dishes that you simply won’t ever forget. Don’t forget to try the grilled octopus—it’s a local favorite! Isle of Palms is the perfect place for a beachside meal.
Whether you’re looking for a beach party or a romantic evening, Isle of Palms offers restaurants that are sure to satisfy any craving. Check out these amazing restaurants on your night out, or click here to learn more about one of the east coast’s most fantastic beach paradises!
